Montgomery County Community College reacts to Covid-19
Montgomery County Community College is committed to the health of all Americans. But, for correct prevention and action against Covid-19 it is important to start from home.
This time at the Trophy & Plaque Shack we want to talk about more than just Custom Trophies. Social engagement is something that should be recognized, admired, and promoted.
Covid-19 reaction from Montgomery County Community College
Montgomery County Community College has partnered with the Montgomery County Immunization Coalition, Giant Pharmacy, and JBS Foods. This alliance was made to organize two COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the benefit of the community.
Remember that vaccination against this terrible disease is a method of prevention against reactions and complications that could occur when infected. Fortunately, accessing the vaccine is not difficult in Montgomery County. Just find a vaccine clinic, like the one run by Montgomery County Community College.
Montgomery reaction to Covid-19: the Vaccine Clinics
Both clinics took place in August. The first was held on Friday, August 6, at 10 a.m. at 3 p.m. The meeting point was the MCCC Advanced Technology Center, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.
The response was acceptable, although there is still a long way to go to immunize all Americans. The second vaccination clinic occurred on Friday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., based in the MCCC South Hall Community Room, 101 College Drive, Pottstown.
Misinformation
Many passed up a vaccination due to some prejudice and because of the misinformation that various people were spreading. However, the reality of vaccination is different.
One of the main rumors was that the vaccine gave you Covid-19. This is false, as none of the vaccines contain the live virus! Also, the number of people who have had an adverse reaction or health problems from the vaccine is minimal.
On the other hand, those people who do not get vaccinated increase their chances of being a serious case or even dying. From that point on, a slight headache and arm pain, as well as a slight fever is tolerable to intubation.
Montgomery County Community College says “thank you” to all vaccinated
Even with this intensive campaign on social networks, many people went ahead to get the vaccination. As a token of gratitude for their commitment to health, all attendees received a free burger, fries, water, and gifts, courtesy of JBS Foods.
Additionally, as an added incentive, anyone 21 years of age or older who was vaccinated on any of the campuses entered a drawing organized by JBS. The grand prize was free meat for a family of four for a year.
The reward for getting the vaccination is lifesaving. That is why at T&P Shack we want to recognize this great joint effort. Every person who has been vaccinated is already a winner and has the best trophy of all: the opportunity to save lives.
